A Kansas City man is being charged with Robbery in the First Degree of the 7-Eleven located at 301 E. 63rd Street, Kansas City, MO, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Montea Theus, dob: 5/25/91, faces one count of Robbery in the First Degree.*
According to court records, Theus entered the 7-Eleven eary the morning of May 14, 2017, and after buying gum, placed a note on the store counter demanding money or threatening harm to the victim. The victim refused to open the cash register. Theus had his hand in his coat pocket and appeared to have a gun in that pocket by pointing the pocket at the victim. Theus reached over the store counter and took lottery tickets. When questioned by police, Theus admitted to taking the lottery tickets and that he placed his hand in his coat pocket and pointed his finger at the victim to make him believe he had a gun.
Prosecutors have requested a bond of $75,000.00.
