A 16-year-old Kansas City teen has been charged with Murder 2nd Degree in the July 5, 2016. homicide near 83rd Terrace and Campbell, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced tonight.
Devon Davis, dob: 5/23/2000, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records filed today, a witness told police that Davis and another suspect, Jerome B. Walker Jr., attacked the victim after he stooped to tie his shoe. One hit him with a baseball bat and Davis shot the victim. Davis told another witness he shot the victim after Walker hit him with a baseball bat.
Davis was just certified to stand trial as an adult.
Prosecutors have requested a bond of $250,000 cash.
