For Immediate Release Sept. 21, 2016 The father of Daizsa Bausby, an 18-year-old Kansas City high school student found dead in a south KC motel in March, has been charged with the murder of his daughter, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today. Jerry K. Bausby, dob: 6/13/1976, faces felony charges of Murder in the 1st Degree, Sodomy in the 1st Degree, Incest and Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree.* According to court records filed today, police found Bausby's body at the 4 Acres Motel on Hickman Mills Drive on March 21, 2016, after she was discovered by motel cleaning staff. The Jackson County Medical Examiner ruled she had by killed by smothering. She also been anally sodomized. Her father had rented the room and video showed him entering the hotel to rent the room. At 3:31 a.m. a person matching the defendant's description is seen leaving the motel. He doesn't return to the room where his daughter's body is later found. DNA tests found the vicitm's DNA on Bausby's penis. Bausby was taken into custody this afternoon. Prosecutors requested a bond of $750,000.
