A Kansas City man, 24, has been charged in the fatal shooting on Nov. 29, 2021, of Michael Doza-Adams at a vacant lot on Independence Avenue in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.

According to court records, Kansas City police were dispatched to Independence Avenue and Potter Aveneu in Kansas City on the report of dead body. Police found the gunshot victim in a vacant lot. He was declared deceased at the scene. The victim's hands were tied. A shell casing was recovered nearby. Crime scene technicians noted that the rope and other items at the scene were similar in appearance to items located at a Gladstone, MO, homicide. A shell casing located at the Gladstone scene was linked oth the casing found in Kansas City. Both casings also were matched to a Raytown assault. DNA on the casing at the Kansas City scene was linked to the defendant. In addition, DNA collected from the victim's wrist and the rope knot on the victim's hands were linked to the defendant.
