A 50-year-old Kansas City man pleaded guilty to five felony counts related to sexual contact with a child and was sentenced today to 12 years in a Missouri state prison, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Bomani Madu, dob: 7/18/1972, pleaded guilty to Statutory Sodomy 2nd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Sexual Misconduct Involving a Child, and two counts of Child Molestation. A judge sentenced the defendant to 10 years on the Statutory Sodomy conviction and 2 years on each of the other four counts. Those four were set to run consecutively to the 10-year sentence for a total of 12 years.
The defendant was scheduled for trial this week, but opted to plead guilty after a jury was chosen and witnesses appeared.
