A Kansas City man has been charged in the fatal shooting of Christina Nevels, as she was driving a vehicle with a 4-year-old child in the backseat while the vehicle was in front of Central Patrol for the Kansas City Police Department, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Eliott P. Nevels, dob: 5/12/1988, faces charges of Murder 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.*
According to court records, Kansas City police saw a man dressed in black sprinting from the area of 1200 E. Linwood after persons reported hearing shots. Officers found the victim, Christina Nevels, dob: 7/18/1985, deceased in the driver's seat. She later was determined to have died from gunshot wounds. Officers also found a 4-year-old child screaming in the back seat. Video surveillance showed a the defendant running from the area. The defendant told police he shot the victim and ran from the scene.
Prosecutors requested a bond $150,000 cash only.
