A Kansas City man, 19, faces felony charges in connection with the July 20, 2020 fatal shooting of Diamon Eichelburger as she walked with her 1-year-old child in a stroller along a busy street in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
David W. Everson, dob: 2/9/2002, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court documents, Kansas City police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Van Brunt Boulevard on a reported shooting on July 20, 2020. They found the female victim in a parking lot in the area. She had been shot multiple times. Shell casings were located in the area. Witnesses stated that she was with her 1-year-old toddler in a stroller walking toward a convenience store in the area of 27th and Van Brunt. Detectives used social media and information from license plates read in the area of Diamon Eichelburger's murder to identify the suspect. His cell phone data contained messages related to the homicide, including "I hit her 5 times dead in her face 5"
Prosecutors requested a bond of $250,000 cash only.
