A 29-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Kurreem D. Graves who was found Friday in a vehicle in south Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Darryl Donegan, dob: 6/4/1992, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, Kansas City police responded Friday, Aug. 28, 2021, to the area of 7900 block of E. 112th Street in Kansas City on a shooting. They found the victim slumpedover the driver side of a vehicle. He had suffered multiple gunshots. Witnesses told police that the victim and suspect were friends but on the morning of the shooting, they said they had engaged in a verbal altercation. About two in the morning, witnesses saw and heard gunshots being fired by the defendant. The defendant, in an interview with police detectives, acknowledged he shot the victim, then threw the gun into his backyard.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $250,000 cash only.
