A 44-year-old Oak Grove man has been charged in the murder late Thursday of Michael Noud, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Robert Lee Haynes faces charges of Murder in the 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, a detective for the Jackson County Sheriff's Office found the 27-year-old victim in a gravel driveway on Russell Road in Oak Grove. A revolver was found nearby, along with shell casings. Haynes told the detective that the victim shot himself in the head after he initially fired two shots into the ground. But witnesses told police that the victim and his girlfriend were in an argument at the residence when the defendant walked out with a gun and shot the victim.
Prosecutors have requested a bond of $250,000.
