A Jackson County jury late Wednesday convicted a Nevada, MO, man, 56, of 33 counts related to sexual abuse of children over a 14-year period in Jackson County residences, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
The jury convicted Stephen D. Turner, dob: 9/2/1965, of multiple counts of Sodomy, Child Molestation, Statutory Sodomy 1st Degree, Statutory Rape 1st Degree, Statutory Sodomy 2nd Degree, Statutory Rape 2nd Degree, Forcible Rape and Use of a Child in Sexual Performance.
The defendant will be sentenced by a Jackson County judge at a future hearing yet to be set.
According to court records, the defendant had oral, anal and vaginal sex with victims over at least 14 years. The three child victims were as young as 4 at the time of the sexual abuse, which occurred at three locations in Jackson County.
Assistant Jackson County prosecutors Jill Icenhower and Dion Sankar prosecuted the case on behalf of the state of Missouri.
