A Kansas City man has been charged in connection with the April 25, 2021, fatal shooting of Gary Taylor near 19th and Vine Street in the 19th and Vine entertainment area of Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Jerronn Anderson, dob: 10/12/1991, faces Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, Kansas City police were dispatched to 19th and Vine Street on reported shots fired on the evening of April 25, 2021, and they found the victim, Gary Taylor, outside a building near 19th and Vine. Surveillance video showed the shooting and the victim falling to the ground. It also helped detectives track the suspect's movements after the shooting. He is favoring a leg as he moves. The vehicle he is in shows up at a hospital emergency room and checks in under his name. He says he's been shot, although he said he was shot in the area of 39th and Topping. A witness identified the defendant as the suspect who shot the victim.
Prosecutors requested a $250,000 bond.
