A 21-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in a fatal shooting on an Amtrak train while it was in Lee's Summit on Monday, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Marquise L. Webb, dob: 4/17/200, faces Murder 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Vehicle Hijacking and two counts of Armed Criminal Action charges.*
According to court records, the defendant drove down to a tow lot where a family member and Smith had been in a dispute. The defendant's vehicle is captured on LPR and surveillance footage pulling up next to victim’s vehicle before the victim’s car pulls forward and crashes into a pole. Victim was shot behind his left ear. Defendant’s phone also shows him to be in the area at the time of the shooting.
Prosecutors requested a $500,000 cash bond.
