[ARCHIVED] KC man sentenced in child-sex case

A Kansas City man was sentenced late Thursday to 60 years in prison following his conviction on a number of felony sex charges related to multiple children, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.

A Jackson County judge sentenced Edward Ellis III, 30 (dob: 6/10/1985) to 20 years on three counts of Statutory Sodomy 1st Degree, setting all three of the 20-year sentences to run consecutively. Ellis was also sentenced to 4 years on three counts of Incest, 10 years on Child Molestation 1st Degree, 7 years on Child abuse and 1 year on three counts of misdemeanor Endangering. All those were set to run concurrently to the 60 years of sentences for statutory sodomy.

*Charges are only accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless anduntil the defendant is either found guilty or has pleaded.
