Raytown man charged in alleged sexual assault
A Raytown man faces criminal charges in connection with an alleged sexual assault and robbery on Wednesday in Raytown, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Michael S. Page, 36 (dob: 9/30/1979), faces Sodomy or Attempted Sodomy 1st Degree, Robbery in the 2nd Degree and misdemeanor Assault 3rd Degree.*
According to court records, Raytown police officers were dispatched to the 8500 block of Hawthorne on a reported sexual assault. The victim, 28m reported she had arranged to meet the suspect when he appeared from around a corner with a mask. She told him “No” and tried to get away, but he pushed her to the ground and penetrated her vagina with his fingers. He also hit her over the head and took her cellphone before he left the area on bicycle. The suspect told police he had called her about sex for money, but he didn’t plan to pay her. So he had a “small window of opportunity” and “started feeling on her” after they met. He wore a mask so she wouldn’t know his identify, he said. And he took her cell phone, he said, so she wouldn’t tell anyone. After obtaining a search warrant, Raytown police found the mask and the victim’s cellphones in his residence.
Prosecutors have requested a bond of $100,000/10 percent.
