A Kansas City man faces multiple felony counts in connection with a weekend chase in Kansas City with police that ended in a crash in which multiple persons were injured, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Hakeem K. Harris, dob: 11/22/1990, faces Kidnapping, Armed Criminal Action, Resisting Arrest and Driving While Revoked.*
According to court records, police earlier Saturday, March 5, had responded on a reported assault involving Harris. A woman acquaintance told police she had been assaulted and held against her will for up to 2 hours. Later police saw the vehicle that Harris reportedly was driving. Harris fled from police until he ran a red light at Truman Road and crashed into a vehicle. Other vehicles were involved in the wreck and multiple persons were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Prosecutors have requested a bond of $100,000.
