Three Kansas City men, ages 17-18, have been charged in connection with the murder earlier this month of 14-year-old Alexis Kane, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
All three defendants face Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges. The defendants are Issac M. Carter, 17 (dob: 2/1/1997); Ce-Antonyo D. Kennedy, 17 (dob: 8/16/1997) and Dominic McDaniel, 18 (dob: 8/8/1996).*
According to court records, Kane was found shot to death on the grounds of The Bay Water Park in south Kansas City. Multiple 9mm shells were found at the scene. The victim had been communicating with a Malik, according to friends and arranged to meet someone at the 7-11 on Blue Ridge Blvd. Friends observed the victim enter a white Chrysler four-door vehicle with two unknown males with dread locks. Surveillance video confirmed the vehicle and showed the victim been physically assaulted and shot. Other witnesses told police that a Malik and Nick were in the white Chrysler and they took the victim to the water park where Kennedy struck the victim in the face with a handgun and Carter shot her multiple times.
Prosecutors have requested each defendant be held on a cash bond of $500,000.
