[ARCHIVED] Woman charged in fatal NE wreck

A 26-year-old woman faces a charge of Murder 2nd Degree in connection with the fatal traffic accident in September that took the life of Marianna Hernandez-Gonzales near 9th and Hardesty, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.

Her overturned Tahoe and a heavily damaged vehicle were nearby. The victim had been ejected. The victim’s husband and six children also were in the vehicle with the victim. Three children were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. Holleran told police she knew the vehicle she was driving was stolen and that she had been using Methamphetamines and Marijuana just prior to getting into it. She also stated as she approached 9th
and Hardesty she knew she had a red light. Out of fear of her, she said she closed her eyes and gunned it. Then the accident occurred.
